“Hey— wanna, uh— I mean I see you there, back here, alone and I was wondering— maybe you would like to dance?”
Oh, but he didn’t dance, at least that’s what he seemed to keep telling himself. Hmm, perhaps an exception could be made for her. She was the princess, afterall.
After a couple of seconds of trying to decide if he’d go through with it, he held out his hand to the girl, a soft smile on his face.
It didn’t take Anna too long to get from “point a“ to ”point b”. Racing through the halls, she managed to avoid knocking over the few staff members dusting. Anna needed to hurry so when she busted into her room, all she did was grab a handful of jewelry from her one of many boxes and swiped a crown off the stand.
“I-I’m back!”
Anna huffed and puffed, nearly out of breath by the time she returned. A smile smeared on her face at the sight of the sleeping thief. He actually stayed…. “Huh. What d’you know…” Her first encounter with a thief and he wasn’t actually a bad guy.
Anna placed the crown covered in emerald gems on top of his neatly done hair. “Hey Princess, thanks for, uh… not leaving.” She slammed the ear rings and necklaces on the table, an extra measure to wake him up.
The noise caused him to snap back to reality and he almost fell off the chair he was seated on, but managed to catch himself just in time. Turning to look up at her, he noticed the weight on his head and then reached up to remove the crown on his head– he had caught sight of his appearance in one of the many mirrors laid about and his nose wrinkled.
p r i n c e e u g e n e,
yeah, right.
A deal was a deal. The crown was slipped off and into his bag, and then he pulled out the royal item that she so badly wanted back. He held it out to her, and then adjusted the satchel on his shoulder whilst he stretched his legs a bit.
“Well– it was nice doing business with you, lady.”
Anna didn’t want to leave him there while she ran to her room, just on the off chance he decided to swipe a few more items. There’s only so much she can explain for things missing before people start to suspect they’ve been robbed. “If I go get it you better not leave. I’m trusting you.”
She pointed her index finger at him in as much of a threatening manner as she could. “If you stay here, I’ll have something extra for you, okay? But if I come back and you’re gone… I’ll alert every authority figure and you won’t get out of this kingdom.”
This was such a bad idea, Anna knew it but… she still went through with it. The Princess simply didn’t want to risk him changing his mind and keeping her crown… though it seemed like either way that may happen.
Anna bit her lip and nodded, “Okay, remember… trusting you!” With that, she ran out of the room with great speed. In and out, that’s what she was planning. Grab one of her ugly bulky crowns, a fist full of earrings and leave.
When she was out of the room, he mumbled under his breath in response to the last thing she said.
“–yeah, probably not a good idea.”
Despite how easy it would be to leave, the thief stayed in that room. He moved over to the table and found himself a seat, having no idea how long it’d take her to run and get the items and then return to him. Castle’s were huge–
he’d be surprised if she didn’t get lost.
He rested his head in his arms, and then let his eyes fall shut, an unplanned nap taking over.
The fiddle was lowered as Anna dropped her shoulders.
This thief actually had a valid point. As a princess, Anna was granted to many things in life… which was basically anything she wanted. Though she didn’t ask for much, she was still given crowns as gifts from various nobles and her parents. Not many people were lucky to be rich and live the lush life that follows.
She frowned— if he was stealing he needed the money. Anna groaned loudly, damn that beautiful stupid face of his!
“Can I at least make a trade? I really do like that crown.. What if I give you one I don’t really care about?”
Now that was new.
A princess willing to bargain with a thief who had intentions of stealing her crown. Hmm. Oh, but it was hard to believe. Even if it was happening right in front of him.
His brow quirked in response to her suggestion, and then he crossed his arms over his chest.
She repeats the word, unsure of where the nickname came from but it’s the least of her concerns. Shaking her head, Anna raised the fiddle over her head as she inched towards the thief.
“I’ll have you know, that’s my crown, stupid face! If you give it back then the guards will keep your stupid face in tact.”
"You’re rich– I’m pretty sure you have about fifty other crowns for every occasion that you could think of.”
–and there it was, a slip of the tongue, the negativity and spite he had toward those of a higher standing being voice and brought to light.
With a boy who had nothing growing up, it was rather normal to see things the way he did. He was lucky enough to eat each day, some he didn’t have that luxury, whilst those in the castle never had that worry.
It was.. infuriating.
“Guards? Clearly they don’t care about your stupid crown, considering they’re not even here–”
As he spoke, he was inching backwards, not feeling too keen on her advancements. Getting hit over the head or having any sort of object or person near his face did not sit well with him.
Just having someone there, listening to her… it was all Anna needed. It was more than enough for her.
”That’s just how life works, huh? Learn from your mistakes, learn from others— we’re aaaalways learning.”
Was there any time for fun?
He watched the way she talked, listening to each word intently. Though he didn’t know how to fix what was going on with her, he had a couple of minutes to spare so he was capable of hearing her out.
“Yeah. But sometimes you need to shut the world out and focus on yourself.”
Funny– Flynn Rider was giving out advice, stating to focus on one’s self.
