✿ She looked at him with an odd look on her face, almost as if she was concerned from his words.
❝Do you think a way out like that exists?❞
She asked as she snuggled down further, lying her head across his lap. Moments like this weren’t rare, per say. They just didn’t happen as often as she would have liked. Just the two of them, talking about whatever came across their minds.
❝I’m just scared I’ll go before you. For some reason.. I can’t bear with the thought of leaving you by yourself. Not that you’d be alone, but more of a ‘what would you do without me’ scenario.❞
His fingers ran through her hair, the expression on his face softened slightly ; no, if anything, he was worried about her. Leaving her alone– he couldn’t bare the thought.
“It’ll be okay. Just.. try not to think too hard on it. It’s one of those things that gets worse each time you do, so it’s better to not altogether.”
✿ ❝You make it sound as if it’s only me who’ll get old and wrinkly when you’re older than me.❞
She let herself relax in his arms, feeling a sudden wave of drowsiness.
❝Aren’t you ever scared that one day we might not come out alive from a case?❞
“Genes like mine, I think I’ll be okay.”
At the question, he turned his head slightly to get a better look at her. A small frown grew present at her announced thoughts, though it disappeared when he spoke again, the tone of sureness flowing.
“I don’t think about it. When it happens, and it will happen, I hope it’ll be quick and painless. So quick, I won’t even have realize it happened.”
✿ ❝It would be pretty tragic if you couldn’t get a date with me hovering around and scaring them all. But then again, it would probably hurt a lot to see you date someone else.❞
It follows with a light hearted laugh which eventually faded, turning to soft "hm’s".
A smile was flashed in her direction, and then he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her into him.
“Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere– unless you get super old and wrinkly. Which probably won’t happen for a while so there’s nothing to worry about.”
✿ She stuck out her tongue before taking a small bite of her bread, eyes focused to the forest. Being a hunter wasn’t easy and it never would be, but she supposed because of how unusual it was, it gave the pair a little more excitement and something to look forward to.
❝I wouldn’t like it but I wouldn’t kill people just for walking. He should’ve found a positive outlook on being a ghost rather than suddenly tearing out eyes.❞
Flynn gave her an amused expression, and reached over to gently nudge her with his elbow.
“–I’d hate for you to be a ghost, you’d haunt me, day in and day out. Wouldn’t be able to get a date with my ghost girlfriend following me around. How horrible that would be.”
✿ She sat beside him near the outskirts of the forest, legs crossed while she held the crossbow close to her. There was a new case, deep into the forest they were seated nearby. Something about a ghost on a rampage. She tore off a piece of bread, handing the other half to her partner with a small smile.
❝So, I heard that this ghost likes to do some pretty crazy things when it comes to people.❞
The bread was accepted with gratitude on his face, and a wider smile formed as he bit into the pastry that they had gotten earlier that day. Their job wasn’t the most typical one, and perhaps that’s what had drawn them both to it in the first place. He gave a small shrug at her comment, knowing very well that ghosts could be pretty cruel if given a reason to be.
“–how would you like it if you were stuck here with no where else to go for eternity?”
